Legal Tech Specialist (Junior and Senior)

A large top-tier global law firm is looking for 2 additions to their legal technology team based in Asia in either Hong Kong, Singapore or Tokyo. These would come under the term Legal Tech Specialist with one role, the Junior Specialist a Maternity cover for 9 months and also the Senior Specialist which is a permanent addition.  These roles are additions as opposed to replacements and you’d be joining a company with genuine career opportunities, study & education support + a diverse and inclusive team. THE COMPANY:

 

You will get exposure to a vast selection of industries/client sizes, but the core focus initially is supporting the investment of internal legal technologies within the firm, large areas have already seen the benefit of legal tech and the goal is to spread the positivity and efficiency of taking a technology centric approach. The long-term goal is to embed legal technologies to streamline internal processes and provide clients with a  heightened level of service.

 

THE ROLE:

 

As a Legal Tech Specialist,  you will be utilising use your skills & your knowledge of the legal field through mainly a processes point of view to enhance and improve the means of using legal technologies internally to provide a better service for clients. This position will also be involved in contentious matters solutions (such as eDiscovery) and transaction delivery solutions.

 

You can also expect to be involved in the following:

 

  • Actively using the products available to deliver efficiencies (particularly with the junior specialist there is a focus on Artificial Intelligence which will mean advice and support to the firm on how to use the technologies and tools).
  • Some product management with input into the strategy via understanding the need and benefit gain from legal technologies. Which will also contain some marketing.
  • Utilising other tools potentially such as Nuix, Brainspace and others.
  • Engaging client stakeholders internally and externally with a variety of responsibilities. With a  view to make Senior Specialist and Management respectively.

 

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

 

The successful Forensic Data Analytics Consultant will possess the following skills and experience:

 

  • A Bachelor or master’s degree is preferred but with a lean on technology and/or law.
  • Junior Specialist with 1-2 years of experience in Law or Tech OR the Senior Specialist with 2-4 years of experience.
  • Any exposure to technology tools would be beneficial in the law arena or investigations arena, it would make the integration much easier.
  • Understanding the tools such as eBibling, eSigning, Atticus and similar IPO process solutions, Virtual Data Rooms, Extranet & iSheets, Transact and more.
  • There is also a need to understand eDiscovery and the EDRM around it albeit this is not the focus. This can include, processing data, running searches, customising review batches, coding and also leveraging TAR. There is more to it though.
  • Ability to work as part of a team with a hybrid work from home approach.
